Urgent response helps meet urgent need

Taken by Baptist Press

Patee Park, you have done well!

Our disaster relief response for the recent tornado outbreak is already bearing fruit. You have met the urgent need with an urgent response.

Sunday we took up an offering with almost no public promotion ahead of time, except one-day’s notice for those on facebook and twitter. Pulling together, we collected over $420!

We also announced on the spot that we were going to collect needed relief supplies to be sent to the area. On Tuesday we shipped 45 pounds of deodorant, shoes, diapers, trash bags, toothbrushes, washcloths and hand sanitizer. Those items are being distributed this morning, Thursday. We expect to have pictures to share with you soon!

Our donations will support the ministry of local churches. They will be there to meet physical needs and will remain to continue meeting spiritual needs. Our prayer is that our support will translate into opportunities to both demonstrate the love of Christ and give verbal proclamation of the good news of Jesus and reconciliation to God!

Will you join me in praying to this end?
– Pastor Jeff.
